RE-WILDING THE HONEY BEE

Role: Director/Camera/Editor

A film about Matt Somerville a natural beekeeper from Hampshire UK.  He is putting hives in trees where bees belong and lets them survive without the interference of man. Bees left in this way can cope well with Varroa and survive without chemical treatments and feeding sugar and pollen substitutes. In time he is able to collect strong swarms to use in other hives.

KARAJAN -MAGIC AND MYTH

Working with John Bridcut as Associate Producer/Researcher on this superb profile of Karajan.

'One of the best docs about classical music BBC Four has ever aired... by the peerless John Bridcut"

Radio Times, Documentary of the Week

'John Bridcut's superb profile surveyed the Salzburg-born Karajan as if he were Mont Blanc or the Matterhorn, considering the contradictions in his character as though studying aspects of the landscape at different times of day amid changing weather conditions. Monomaniacal and power-crazed, or a generous collaborator with esteemed colleagues? A self-obsessed narcissist, or a dashing man of the future with a vision of how new technology could transform the public's understanding of music? An artistic genius, or a gifted actor playing the part of one?'

FLIPSIDE LITERATURE AND ARTS FESTIVAL

FlipSide was founded in 2013 by Liz Calder, Genevieve Christie, Louis Baum and John Christie.

FlipSide is the sister festival of FLIP (Festa Literaria Internacional de Paraty), South America's first and largest international literary festival.

Initially FlipSide was an annual arts festival at Snape Maltings and in its inaugural year the festival welcomed writers from the UK and Brazil including Ian McEwan, Will Self, Milton Hatoum and Bernardo Carvalho.  Since then the festival has taken place in Snape, Lowestoft and Henham, and welcomed an array of wonderful writers from across the globe, including Margaret Atwood, Michael Ondaatje, Ali Smith, Ana Maria Machado, David Hare, Jackie Kay and Benjamin Zephaniah, to name but a few.

The festival has a strong musical element and has played host to Bebel Gilberto, Adriana Calcanhotto, Paula Morelembaum, Jose Miguel Wisnick, Mônica Vasconcelos and world DJ Gilles Peterson. The festival has also provided Brazilian music workshops in schools and a host of music and dance workshops take place at the festival.
